I LOVE DISCOVERING MUSIC BY UNDERRATED ARTISTS. SO, I GOTTA TELL YOU ABOUT THE ROTARY CONNECTION. I BECAME AWARE OF THIS GROUP WHILE WATCHING UNSUNG.. MINNIE RIPERTON. I AM AWARE OF HER WORK, BUT I SOON DISCOVERED SHE SANG WITH THIS AMAZING GROUP OF TALENTED MUSICIANS, SINGERS, ARRANGERS THEIR SOUND WAS SO ETHEREAL AND DREAM LIKE, THEIR STYLE WAS COINED PSYCHEDELIC CHAMBER SOUL. THE GROUP RELEASED SIX ALBUMS BETWEEN 1967 AND 1971.
I WAS LOST FOR WORDS WHEN I HEARD THE SONG RESPECT FAMOUSLY SANG BY OTIS REDDING AND ARETHA FRANKLIN REWORKED INTO A DUET, IT BLEW MY MIND. LADY JANE IS ANOTHER TRACK YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT. THE ARRANGEMENT, VOCALS, MUSCIANSHIP, AWESOME!!!!
CHARLES STEPNEY WHO IS KNOWN FOR HIS WORK WITH EARTH, WIND, AND FIRE USED HIS GENIUS TO BLEND THIS HARMONIOUS GUMBO OF PSYCHEDELIA SOUL. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH OF AWE I WAS LISTENING TO THIS BAND.
I HAD TO SHARE THIS HIDDEN GEM OF MUSIC.
